• March 09th, 2010 (New York)- Recognizing the importance of staying connected to his ever-growing fan base, DJ Envy sought other means of reaching out in this current digital age. After meeting with the talented website and application developers of Cariplex Corp., Envy enlisted them to develop an iPhone application for his entrance into the booming market. Apps enable users to experience the interactivity of traditional social media networking sites, personal websites and multimedia websites combined, all through one application with ease from the user's phone.
Currently the first mainstream urban DJ to develop his own app, DJ Envy has set the trend that many DJs will soon follow. Many of the app's features were personally picked by Envy to reflect qualities that would make it simple to keep his fan base connected. Some of the app’s unique features include the ability to stream the entire collection of DJ Envy mixtapes, the ability to participate in an interactive community via blog and various social networking sites, as well as the ability to stream live and access exclusive music and video content.
On March 15th 2010, DJ Envy will be hosting a private industry-only launch party at the exclusive NYC hotspot La Pomme, to celebrate the release of his new iPhone application. The event will visually showcasing the app's features on 100' of video screens for his industry friends and potential clients. The Vitamin Water-sponsored event will be attended by some of Envy's closest friends- including top DJs, rappers, radio and television personalities and more.
